The Studio @ Webster Hall This Thursday- 12.11.

It's always good to know that spontaneity is alive and well. When a last minute spot opened up for this Thursday's show at the Studio at Webster Hall, Holy Hail jumped at the chance to play with very good friends Bellmer Dolls and the excessively talented ladies of Effi Briest.

It should be a night of many sounds. Come. Bask in the music with us.

viva la mexico.

so i don't know if you noticed our little inclination to posting videos. some we think are funny. some we think are random. most of them aren't relevant. but. this one is!

this past june, HH got to do a little mexico mini tour. we played at cultural centro d'espana in mexico city which was really amazing. it reminded me of the ica in london- great art center in the heart of the city across from aztec ruins and a giant spanish cathedral (old and new literally on top of each other). cce as it is familiarly called is an amazing place to play, see some art, eat some food, and hear some music.

we then made our way to a town outside of puebla called cholula. cholula is best known for it's 365 churches (one for every day of the year!), but it also has a large university in the village so that was a pretty fun show too. though i believe we might have over done it in mexico city with our new friends and way too much mezcal!

our last stop on the tour was a gorgeous town in the mountains called monterrey - a town bursting at the seams with art and music right now. if you have a chance to go there, do! we made amazing friends, ate so much food (we even tried grasshoppers...) and played a really fun show, albeit sweltering hot at 98 degrees fahrenheit. the owners of el garage and all of their friends were some of the coolest/sweetest/most talented kids we have met on the road.

here is a video they put together for us. viva la mexico!!

Happy Halloween.

One year ago today, HH was playing the Paradiso in Amsterdam and doing things our parents probably wouldn't be proud of. (dance parties! what?)

This year, Michally and Cat are going to be Slash and Axl (respectively) and Kevin? He's just gonna be Kevrock per usual.

Enjoy the Holiday. Get weird.

HH Hearts Halloween

For the past three years, we have had a show on Halloween. It's fair to say that it is definitely one of the band's favorite holidays. Since we won't be playing a show this year, we decided to honor the day by coming up with a list of our favorite scary movies of all time. Tis the season...

Halloween

The Exorcist

The Omen

Susperia

Nightmare on Elm Street

Don't Look Now

The Innocents

The Shining

Race With The Devil

The Strangers

Friday the 13th

UNCMJ PARTY. THIS SATURDAY NIGHT.

So, yeah. As thousands of industry types descend upon our hometown this week and many bands scramble to play as many shows as they can, we felt lucky to score this one pretty awesome "UNCMJ" show. Lots of good bands. Not too early, not too late. Some kind of free beer is involved.

So come through. We are between Radio 4 + The Muslims sometime around 7pm.

If you haven't been yet, as we haven't, Public Assembly is what used to be Galapagos. It may become a sort of home away from home away from home since our record release will be there in two weeks (11.06).

Anyways, info for this Saturday's show is here:

Expect to see the best bands from Kanine Records, Polyiny Records and more.

Holy Hail Enters the 21st Century and Gets a Website

Wow... Is it a sign of the apocalypse? Kevin finally has email and learned the internet. Barack Obama is up for the presidency. And holy eff, Holy Hail has finally (sort of?) got its website up and running.

Goal:
We will try to keep up on this blog thing a couple times a week.

SO...

There is a lot going on with Team Hail these days. We are really excited about the debut of our first album, Independent Pleasure Club on 11.11.08. As you can see, we have leaked a track on this website as sort of a welcome wagon treat.

Also, we just were put up for Deli Magazine's "Artist of the Month". If you have a second, please vote for us here at Deli Magazine. The contest is up until Oct 31...

Stay tuned for more info... And please hit us up with emails. We love new (and old) friends.

In the mean time, we heart this:
